First Reconciliation & First Communion

First Reconciliaton &

 First Communion

Most of our Sacramental Preparation programs are meant to be two years in length. The first year is meant to get our young people engaged in the process and continue the faith formation begun at Baptism and the second year is the more “proximate” preparation for the given sacrament.

Normally, we celebrate  Reconciliation and First Communion with our Second Graders. In other words, children in First Grade should be in Faith Formation the year before.

Children who were baptized Catholic and are in the second grade or older may prepare for these life-long sacraments.

More about

Reconciliation Eucharist

Our sacramental preparation program for First Reconciliation and First Communion is a family based program.  Parents or guardians and children meet on the second Saturday of the month at St. Edward for instruction and  community.  Parents then work with their children at home during the month and the children meet on a Sunday in their home parish for additional instruction.

There are three family sessions in the fall for First Reconciliation and three in the winter/spring for  First Communion.

Registration is closed for the 2023-24 year
