Dear Families,

As I come to the end of my quarantine, I look forward to returning to the office and regular masses and meetings. I will be back in the parishes celebrating Masses the first weekend of June. I look forward to being present for Pentecost and especially for the Confirmation liturgy on June 8th at St. George. That following Tuesday, June 10th is my thirtieth anniversary to the priesthood. I will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving that evening at six pm at St. Edward. There will be a dinner afterward in the Hall followed by dancing for those who wish. I know it’s a weeknight, but hopefully we won’t keep you out until too late! Please no gifts. Your presence is present enough.

Speaking of anniversaries, the Archdiocese of Seattle will be celebrating its 175th this May 31st. The diocese was formally established on May 31, 1850. We will have a celebratory Mass on Saturday, May 31 at 11 am at St. James Cathedral. I have made plans to attend, and I hope you are able to come as well. We are so blessed to live so close by the cathedral, and it is events like this which make it so special. Hope to see you there.

Queridas familias,

A medida que me acerco al final de mi cuarentena, espero con ansias regresar a la oficina y a las misas y reuniones regulares. Estaré de vuelta en las parroquias celebrando misas el primer fin de semana de junio. Espero poder estar presente para Pentecostés y especialmente para la liturgia de   Confirmación el 8 de junio en San Jorge. Ese           siguiente martes, 10 de junio, es mi trigésimo       aniversario del sacerdocio. Celebraré una Misa de Acción de Gracias esa noche a las seis de la tarde en San Eduardo. Habrá una cena después en el Salón seguida de baile para quienes deseen. Sé que es un día de semana, pero espero que no los mantengamos fuera hasta muy tarde. Por favor, no regalos. Su         presencia es regalo suficiente.

Hablando de aniversarios, la Arquidiócesis de Seattle estará celebrando su 175 aniversario este 31 de mayo. La diócesis fue formalmente establecida el 31 de mayo de 1850. Tendremos una Misa de        celebración el sábado 31 de mayo a las 11 a.m. en la Catedral de Santiago. He hecho planes para asistir y espero que tú también puedas venir. Estamos tan bendecidos de vivir tan cerca de la catedral, y son eventos como este los que la hacen tan especial.          Espero verte allí.

           Khi tôi sắp kết thúc thời gian cách ly, tôi mong được trở lại văn phòng và tham dự các thánh lễ cũng như các cuộc họp thường lệ. Tôi sẽ trở lại các giáo xứ để dâng thánh lễ vào cuối tuần đầu tiên của tháng Sáu. Tôi rất mong được có mặt trong ngày Lễ Ngũ Tuần và đặc biệt là cho buổi lễ Thêm Sức vào ngày 8 tháng Sáu tại Giáo xứ Thánh George. Hai hôm sau, thứ Ba, 10 tháng Sáu là kỷ niệm ba mươi năm tôi trở thành linh mục. Tôi sẽ dâng một thánh lễ Tạ Ơn vào tối đó lúc sáu giờ tại Giáo xứ Thánh Edward. Sẽ có một bữa tối sau đó tại Hội trường và có nhảy múa cho những ai muốn. Tôi biết đó là một buổi tối trong tuần, nhưng hy vọng chúng ta sẽ không giữ Ông Bà Anh Chị Em lại quá muộn! Xin đừng tặng quà. Sự hiện diện của Ông Bà Anh Chị Em là món quà lớn lao 

Nói về những kỷ niệm, Tổng giáo phận Seattle sẽ kỷ niệm 175 năm vào ngày 31 tháng 5 tới đây. Giáo phận được thành lập chính thức vào ngày 31 tháng 5 năm 1850. Chúng tôi sẽ tổ chức Thánh lễ mừng vào thứ Bảy, ngày 31 tháng 5 lúc 11 giờ sáng tại Nhà thờ Thánh Giacôbê. Tôi đã lên kế hoạch tham dự và tôi hy vọng Ông Bà Anh Chị Em cũng có thể đến, như vậy thật tuyệt. Chúng tôi thật may mắn khi sống gần nhà thờ, và những sự kiện như thế này khiến nó trở nên đặc biệt hơn. Hy vọng sẽ gặp Ông Bà Anh Chị Em ở đó.
