Food Distribution Volunteers needed

Dear Parishioners

We are very excited to let you know that we will be hosting a food distribution event coming up on Saturday, June 27th at St. Edward Parish.  We will be working with Catholic Community Services and Pacific Coast Fruit Company by distributing boxes of fresh food and dairy products to those who are most in need during this difficult time of the covid pandemic. We could use about thirty people to volunteer to help us in this project. We will begin distribution at 10 am that day, but will need people here at least an hour in advance since many people come early to get a place in line. We will be lining up cars in the St. Edward parking lot and distributing the food from refrigerated trucks. We can use help hosting the event, ushering cars in the proper direction, helping to unload boxes from the truck and place in people’s vehicles, etc. The list of volunteer needs is attached to this email. If you’d like to volunteer, could you please contact Jennifer Ibach at the email address in the cc line? She will be happy to take your name and coordinate the volunteer efforts. We will send out the flyer inviting people to come next week, but we need to get our volunteers lined up now. We will obviously be following proper protocols with regard to physical distancing, masks, etc. All the details can be found on the Volunteer Information sheet. We especially need some volunteers who speak Chinese, Tigrinya, and Amharic.   If this is something you feel called to do, please sign up and let us know.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Scott Connolly
